The Ultimate Guide to Writing an Engineering Newsletter (Part 1)
A two-part guide where I've condensed all my learnings about writing an Engineering Newsletter.
In January 2023, I began writing this newsletter without any expectations. My initial goal was to train myself in consistency by committing to writing weekly for one year, except for a two-week holiday break.
Just a couple of days ago, I reached 25,000 subscribers, 115 of whom are paid.
So, before going any further, Iād like to express my gratitude to all my readers, especially those who decided to become paid subscribers and support all the effort I put into writing The Hybrid Hacker.
A lot has already been written about creating newsletters, and I've also shared regular quarterly updates on my progress.
However, what I aim to do today is different.
What you are about to read today is a comprehensive guide where I will share all of my learnings, challenges, and tips for starting your Engineering Newsletter and growing it from zero to thousands of subscribers.
Given the amount of information and knowledge I've accumulated and wish to share, this guide will be divided into two parts and segmented into stages for your convenience.
This is what we will cover:
šāāļø Stage 0 - Why you should start writing an Engineering Newsletter
ā Stage 1 - What to write about
š ļø Stage 2 - Choosing your platform
āļø Stage 3 - Getting started with writing
š Stage 4 - Growing your newsletter
š° Stage 5 - Monetizing your newsletter
Additionally, I will provide a list of useful resources and offer numerous tips drawn directly from my own experiences.
