One question I always ask during technical interviews is to describe, in detail, what happens when you turn on a PC/server. I might sound old-school (actually I’m), but a lot of people today take these things for granted. I believe these are the foundations that everyone in the IT sector should know. To learn what happens when you press the power button, it's helpful first of all to understand how a boot loader works. And what’s the best way to learn? By doing of course!
